WordPress MU Installation
WordPress MU is a multi-user-environment solution and developed in a different way. This is why it is suitable for the advanced user. It has some complexities and limited functionality but you can get the ability to manage each blog separately and securely.
Advantage:
1. Set up blog without knowing anything.
2. No configurations file editing, just register and start blogging.
3. Built-in comment spam protection.
4. Ability to use pre-added theme.
5. Get support from the WordPress MU users.
System Requirements:
PHP: Version 4.3 or later
MySQL: Version 4.0 or greater
Installation:
1. Download the WordPress MU ZIP file from http://mu.wordpress.org
2. Extract all the files from the ZIP archive to your Wordpress directory using any FTP client.
3. Create a MySQL database for installing Wordpress MU, suppose wpmu
4. Go to WordPress MU URL ( when the page comes for the first time, it prompts for a new installation
5. Input all the necessary database parameters into the form shown on the webpage ( make sure if the permission to your wp-config.php file is writable for your user account )
6. Click on Submit
7. After you are done with creating your database give your weblog title, email and then submit
8. Installation is complete, all the necessary information with password will be sent to your email account
Installing Blogs of Other People:
1. Peole now may visit your blog and set up their blogs
2. There are two ways to log into WPMU admin panel – the usual login link or to set up a new blog
3. If people want to set up blogs, they can give their information as shown on the page and sign up
4. If the blog set up is successful they will be redirected to next page and the administration information will be sent to their email addresses
In this way you can use WordPress MU to set up multiple blogs and it is easy
